From CA Setbacks to CPA Confidence: Nishtha’s Journey of Resilience and Restart

For many students, academic setbacks feel like an endpoint. For Nishtha, they became a pause that quietly redirected her journey. A former CA aspirant who cleared CA IPCC but could not complete CA Final, she stepped away from professional examinations between 2016 and 2017. This period marked more than an academic break; it reflected a shift in life priorities as marriage, motherhood, and family responsibilities took precedence. Like many women, she placed her career ambitions on hold, uncertain if she would ever return to formal studies. Yet, rather than moving away from learning entirely, she found her way back into education as an academician, keeping her connection to the subject alive until she was ready to begin again.

The Unexpected Trigger That Introduced CPA
Nishtha’s introduction to CPA came through an unexpected interaction. A student from a science background approached her for basic accounting tuition. Through this experience, she learned about the CPA qualification. What began as guidance for a student became a moment of personal clarity. She saw CPA as a fresh professional pathway that valued structure, discipline, and consistency over past academic outcomes.

Choosing Simandhar Education with Confidence
Nishtha enrolled directly with Simandhar Education without considering other institutes. Initially, the CPA process appeared complex, but Simandhar’s structured approach made it manageable. She strongly believes that without this support system, pursuing CPA would not have been possible. From eligibility evaluation to registration and exam booking, every process was handled smoothly, allowing her to focus entirely on preparation rather than administrative concerns.

Academic and Emotional Support That Made a Difference
Beyond procedural guidance, Nishtha found immense reassurance through Simandhar’s student community. The Telegram groups became a space for doubt resolution, motivation, and emotional support. Seeing students in their 30s and 40s, including mothers, preparing for CPA gave her confidence that she was not late and not alone. This sense of belonging played a significant role in rebuilding her self belief.

Learning Through Sripal Jain’s Teaching
Although Nishtha did not meet Sripal sir personally, she attended his Accounts classes and found them clear, structured, and impactful. His teaching reinforced the importance of repeated revision and conceptual clarity, principles that became central to her preparation approach.

Becker Preparation and the Power of Repetition
Becker served as Nishtha’s primary study resource. She strongly believes that Becker is sufficient if studied thoroughly. Following Sripal sir’s advice of multiple readings, she went beyond the minimum requirement and read Becker books nearly nine to ten times before appearing for exams. This extra effort was driven by her past academic setbacks and a desire to eliminate uncertainty. By the time she appeared for exams, especially Regulation, she felt confident and composed. According to her, this rigorous preparation never failed her.

Simandhar Education in Her CPA Journey
For Nishtha, Simandhar Education became a steady source of support as she returned to professional studies after a long academic break. The clarity and structure provided throughout her CPA journey helped her move forward with greater confidence, especially during moments of uncertainty. Knowing that guidance was available when needed gave her the reassurance to stay focused on preparation. This consistent support contributed to a smoother experience and helped her approach the journey with patience, discipline, and renewed belief in herself.

Mindset That Sustained the Journey
Nishtha believes that age is just a number. She drew inspiration from older CPA aspirants, including a woman in her forties with three children pursuing CPA. Community support and shared experiences helped her stay grounded and confident. Perseverance and consistency became the foundation of her progress.

A Personal Reflection
Reflecting on her journey, Nishtha shares a simple yet powerful takeaway “my resilience paid off for me”. While she openly acknowledges moments of self doubt along the way, she emphasizes that persistence, consistency, and patience ultimately shaped her progress and helped her move forward with renewed confidence.

Looking Ahead with Confidence
Nishtha’s journey reflects the reality that careers are not always linear. Academic setbacks, career breaks, and motherhood do not define limitations. With the right support, structure, and mindset, restarting is always possible. Her story stands as a reminder that growth does not follow a fixed timeline and that beginning again can be the strongest step forward.
