1. How CPA Results Are Released
CPA results are released by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), typically following the exam window in which candidates sat for their exams. CPA exam windows are divided into quarterly periods, and results are released multiple times during each window.
Candidates should keep in mind the following when waiting for their scores:
- Scores are typically released a few weeks after the end of each testing window.
- There can be minor delays based on the state board or NASBA schedule.
- Once the scores are released, candidates can check their scores online using the NASBA Application Dashboard.
2. Steps to Check Your CPA Score
The process of checking your CPA results is simple and can be done in a few steps:
Step 1: Visit the NASBA Website
Go to the NASBA official website: www.nasba.org. This is where CPA candidates will log in to check their scores once they’re released.
Step 2: Access the Application Dashboard
On the NASBA homepage, click on the "CPA Exam" section. From there, select the NASBA Application Dashboard option to log into your account.
Step 3: Enter Your Login Details
You will need to enter the same login credentials (email ID and password) that you used when applying for the CPA exam. If you have forgotten your password, there is a recovery option available on the login page.
Step 4: Check Your CPA Score
Once you’ve logged into your NASBA Application Dashboard, your CPA exam scores will be displayed under the "Scores" section. You will be able to view each section you took and your corresponding score.
Important: You need a passing score of 75 to pass each section of the CPA exam. The sections include:
- AUD (Auditing and Attestation)
- FAR (Financial Accounting and Reporting)
- REG (Regulation)
- Discipline [BAR/TCP/ISC]
3. NASBA Application Dashboard – How to Sign Up
If you haven't yet created an account for the NASBA Application Dashboard, follow these steps to sign up:
Step 1: Visit the NASBA Dashboard
Go to the official NASBA website and click on the "Create an Account" button under the CPA Exam section.
Step 2: Provide Your Information
Enter your personal details such as your name, email address, and application ID (which you received after applying for the CPA exam). You’ll also be asked to create a secure password.
Step 3: Verify Your Account
After filling in your details, NASBA will send a verification email to the address you provided. Follow the link in the email to verify your account.
Step 4: Log in to the Dashboard
Once your account is verified, use your new login credentials to access the NASBA Application Dashboard, where you can view your CPA scores, application status, and other exam-related information.
4. What Does Your CPA Score Mean?
Each section of the CPA exam is graded on a scale of 0-99. To pass, you need a minimum score of 75. Here’s a breakdown of what your score means:
- 75 or above: Congratulations, you’ve passed that section of the CPA exam!
- Below 75: Unfortunately, you didn’t pass that section. But don’t worry, you can retake that section in the next available exam window.
Remember that each section of the CPA exam must be passed within a 30-month rolling window from the time you pass your first section. If you don’t pass all four sections within this time, you’ll lose credit for the section you passed first.
